Democrats might move to impeach US President Donald Trump

January 11, 2021

This will happen unless Mike Pence invokes the 25th amendment.

Democrats have said that they will move to impeach Donald Trump as President of the United States if Mike Pence does not invoke the 25th amendment. The 25th amendment will allow Pence and a majority of Cabinet to declare Trump unable to fulfil his duties. This comes after the siege of the US Capitol, which was led by pro-Trump supporters. The Senate has given Pence 24 hours to decide on whether he will invoke the 25th amendment. A source close to Pence has said that he has not ruled out the possibility of using his powers under the 25th yet. Joe Biden will take office on 20 January 2021.
