A flight attendant stood at the very top of the Burj Khalifa as part of this campaign.
Dubai is known for pushing the limits of what we think is possible. Now, its national airline, Emirates, has transgressed yet another boundary by filming the highest ad ever created.
For this campaign, a flight attendant stood at the very pinnacle of the Burj Khalifa – the highest building in the world. Nicole Smith-Ludvik is the sky-diver who played the role of the flight attendant in the 32-second advert. The Burj Khalifa comes in at 830m tall.
Emirates decided to create this insane ad after the UAE was removed from the UK’s red list, now making travelling between the two destinations a lot easier.
In the promo, she sifts through a series of placards that read, “Moving the UAE to the UK Amber list has made us feel on top of the world. Fly Emirates. Fly Better.”
Initially, when the footage was released, many people thought the video was computer-generated. However, Shane Manning, owner and managing director at TECS Event Services, said on his Instagram page, “Just to reiterate – this is very very real with @nicolesmithludvik standing there for hours. This human is an absolute rockstar.”
Several drones circled Smith-Ludvik as she stands on top of the super-tall building and some of the shots are enough to give even the strongest among us a fear of heights.
Emirates has released a behind the scenes video, showcasing how they went about creating the footage. Apparently, it took them hours to plan and strategize this shoot. Have a look below.
