Unless there is a decline in infections, the country is headed for a second wave, he said.
KwaZulu-Natal premier Sihle Zikalala said that a return to a hard lockdown is inevitable, unless South Africa sees a decline in the number of daily coronavirus cases. He warned that a second wave of COVID-19 will be disastrous. Not only will we see more deaths, but the economy cannot afford another blow. He used this as an opportunity to caution South Africans to still play their part in fighting infections even under level 1 of the lockdown.
