Instead of distributing these to the poor, officials seem to be giving them to their own friends and family.
Allegations have come to light that several officials who are key players in the distribution of food packages in several provinces are misusing the government’s feeding schemes. Apparently, these officials are undercutting the allocated food packages meant for the poor and giving them to their own friends and family members. An investigation into these claims is currently underway.
