Tom Daley has been knitting and crocheting since 2020.
A picture of an Olympic medalist, Tom Daley, has gone viral and not for the reasons you might expect. This athlete was spotted knitting a purplish creation while watching the women’s 3m springboard diving final.
The photo was first released by the British Olympic Team on their official Twitter account. They included the caption “Nothing to see here – just @TomDaley1994having a knit at the diving.”

About a week ago, Daley took to his Instagram account to explain to his followers that his craft has been keeping him level headed as he competes at the Olympics. He initially took up knitting and crocheting as a hobby but soon, it became something of an obsession. In the video, he showed viewers a medal holder he made at the Olympics.
In 2020, he decided to open an Instagram account to showcase his creations and his love for these two ‘disciplines’. The account is called “Made With Love By Tom Daley”.
People were quite curious about what Daley was creating while sitting in the Olympic stands. Luckily, he shared the news and explained that he was knitting a cute dog jumper.
Some of the other items he has made include sweaters and cardigans for himself and his friends.
