There are some slight amendments, though.
Last night, President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation to announce that due to the ongoing effects of the third wave of Coronavirus infections, South Africa will remain on alert level 4 for another two weeks. There are some slight changes that have been made, though. Restaurants may open for sit-in dining and gyms will be allowed to reopen, as long as they follow strict health protocols. Restaurant owners have argued that the curfew, which is still in place from 21:00 to 04:00, will have a crippling effect on their sit-in service, seeing as they will need to close their kitchens by 19:00 to allow staff to lock up and return home before the curfew kicks in. Schools are still set to reopen on 26 July. The President will again address the nation after this two week period to inform South Africans about the road forward, based on the relevant data relating to infections.
