About 58 delegates from all over the world took part in the pageant.
On Saturday, the annual Miss Supranational beauty pageant took place. Many view this pageant as the stepping stone to other pageants, like Miss World or even local competitions, like Miss South Africa.
Mzansi’s delegate, Thato Mosehle, proudly walked away as second runner up at the pageant. Winning the crown title was Chanique Rabe from Namibia. About 58 delegates from across the world participated in the pageant, which was streamed live on YouTube.
Chanique Rabe was crowned Miss Supranational Namibia in November 2020. However, due to the pandemic, she could not enter the 2020 international version of the competition, seeing as it was postponed until this year. She is just 24-years-old and is the first representative from Namibia to walk away as the winner of the show.
As the winner of the show, Rabe walked away with a marvelous cash prize of R519 000 and other prizes.
South Africa’s Thato Mosehle is 26 years old and is a medical doctor. She is also the first person to compete under the official Miss South Africa Organisation banner. For many viewers, she was the fan favourite.
Further to this, Mosehle made history because she was the first woman of colour to represent South Africa at this international competition. She is also the first South African contestant to secure a place in the Top 3.
