She shared pictures of the day on social media.
Over the weekend, former Miss South African and Miss Universe 2018 runner-up, Tamaryn Green, Zesimdumise ‘Ze’ Nxumalo shared images and videos of her “umembeso” ceremony.
The process is part of a traditional Zulu wedding ceremony where gifts are exchanged. This usually happens after the ilobolo has been paid, and it involves the groom and his family bringing gifts to the bride’s family.
The customary event took place at DVine Estate in Paarl and was attended by family and friends and celebrities like Khaya Dlanga and Mayihlome Tshwete.
Shortly after sharing images of the day on social media, Tamaryn soon found herself trending on Instagram and Twitter. From the umbrella she was holding, adorned with R200 notes, to her dress and Ze’s dance moves, fans just could not get enough and soaked it all in.
“Thank you, Lord, for a beautiful and blessed day. Thank you for blessing me with the love of my life,” the 27-year-old medical doctor said in one of her captions.
The couple got engaged in April of this year, but they have been dating since late 2018. Ever since they went public, they have been seen at various exclusive events together and they have become something of a couple goal in the country.
