The swimmer completed the 100m breaststroke in just 1 minute and 4.82 seconds.

One of South Africa’s great medal hopes did not disappoint at the Tokyo Olympics. Tatjana Schoenmaker bagged a new world record during her 100m breaststroke heat 5 at the Olympic Games this weekend. She completed the spring in just 1 minute and 4.82 seconds. She broke the record in a remarkable performance, as her swim cap was threatening to come undone as she approached the finish line. However, she was able to manage the situation and put South Africa on the map as far as this Olympic item is concerned.
