Kruger ponds were recently discovered in a Swiss vault. Now, the national mint has taken possession of it and it is understood that they will be sold off. The price of these coins are not known and buyers have to contact the national mint directly. The Krugerrands are part of what scholars call “The Lost Hoard”. Legend has it that Paul Kruger hid the coins in Mpumalanga before he fled to Europe in 1900. People have been searching for Krugers ponds ever since. It is understood that the coins are valued between R14 000 and R250 000 each, depending on the exact one buyers are looking at.
