Windows 11 will show users how long an update will take.

Software testers have said that the estimated times are very inaccurate.

It seems like Microsoft has finally designed a solution for the problem of their software updates that can sometimes take hours to complete. In Windows 11, which is currently being developed, users will be able to see an estimated time that it will take for the update in question to be fully completed. “We are providing estimates for how long a restart for updates would take. When your PC is pending reboot for a quality update, you will be able to see estimates on your power menu under Start, in restart notifications, on the Windows Update Settings page and inside the Windows Update icon that shows up at the lower right of Taskbar,” they said in a blog post about this. According to software testers who have access to the new feature, though, the estimated times are wildly inaccurate and for that reason, do not really provide any solution at all.
